About -KA- (Knowledge Possesses the Soul of Man)

KA is an ancient Egyptian concept; it is the body's spirit, the conscience and the guardian. It is believed to live on after the body dies. KA is knowledge, passed down from teacher to student. It lives on when the student becomes the teacher.

-KA- (Knowledge Possesses the Soul of Man) features the choreographer's teacher, Kavitha Krishnan, her living expression transferring and transforming through dancers who receive her knowledge. -KA- discovers the interaction of the knowledge within each person, and the knowledge from ancient civilisations.

Shahrin creates this work as a gift and a tribute to his teachers and mentor. -KA- will feature Shahrin Johry alongside dancers Bernice Lee, Eva Tey, Star Guo (Singapore), Gianti Giadi (Indonesia) and his teachers Kavitha Krishnan and Susan Yeung.

Music collaboration by Bani Haykal and Kailin Yong with dramaturgy by Neo Kim Seng.

The presentation is coupled with a photographic exhibition of the process of the production by Photographer, Tan Ngiap Heng at the foyer of Drama Centre Black Box.
